Event Day Information

COVID Compliance


Mandatory COVID screening and Vaccine verification will be required prior to entry of the event site. You will be receiving a COVID screening on October 29th and reminder email on the 30th with a screening link which you will be required to complete prior to gaining entry to the event.  

In accordance with the government of Ontario, as a reminder all players, participants and guests will be required to show proof of double vaccination and a completed COVID screening upon entry.  

It is important to have this information readily available on your mobile device or a printed hard copy to ensure a speedy entry of the event. You will be asked to show this prior to gaining entry. Please speak to friends and family if you need support obtaining these documents or credentials.

Your check-in time for game day will be sent via email on Friday, October 29th. 

  • We have two (2) waves of check-in times:  

  • Wave 1: 7:15 AM - 8:00 AM 

  • Wave 2: 7:45 AM - 8:30 AM 
  • ​Wave 3 : 8:30 AM - 9:15 AM


  • Your team’s specific time is dependent on when your first game is scheduled  

  • Your team’s official 2021 game day schedule will be provided upon check-in Saturday morning 


Onsite Parking/Road Closures 

  • For onsite parking, please follow signs for parking lot A,B,C, E at SmartVMC, Vaughan Metropolitan Centre – NE lot 175 Millway Avenue, Vaughan, ON and look out for our Road Hockey volunteers when turning in to the SMARTVMC plaza - they will help guide you to the appropriate parking lots.

  • Coffee provided by Balzac’s: 7:15 AM 
  • ​Hot Chocolate provided by SmartCentres at SMARTVMC tent: 7:15 AM
  • Grab & Go Breakfast provided by Marigolds & Onions: 7:15 AM  

  • Lunch provided by Longo’s: 11:00 AM  

  • 5th + 10th year participants are invited to join Miyo Yamashita, President & CEO of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in the Beer Garden at 1:15 PM for a special toast and celebration to thank you for your continued support 

  •  Beer Garden: 1:30 PM 

*Captains will receive (2) drink tickets for all players on their team of legal drinking age. Outside of the (2) provided tickets, alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase for $5.00 
*Be sure to keep hydrated throughout the day, refuel by visiting any of the beverage stations onsite for water, juice and products provided by Coca-Cola.  


  • Your team captain will receive one (1) Captain Team Bag with your official 2021 Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer participant shirts for all registered players. Feel free to wear this shirt on game day if you’d like!   

Keep yourself busy between games

  • Watch your favourite hockey players, alumni, and celebrities battle it out in the Annual Top Fundraisers VS Celebrity Game on the Celebrity Feature Pad at 12:45 PM 

  • Keep hydrated at any of our beverage stations 

  • Relax in the Beer Garden with your teammates, opening at 1:30 PM  

 Housekeeping Items

  • Each team must have a minimum of 8 players and a maximum of 12 players to play 

  • Game day is rain or shine! 


  • Yes – guests can attend! 

  • Guests will need to fill out the mandatory COVID screening and provide Vaccine verification prior to entry of the event site.  

  • Once the link has be provided, please share to fellow friends and family who will be attending 
  • The event is mandated that participants and guests who are eligible are fully vaccinated. We are encouraging masks and social distancing and it is up to the parents discretion on whether you are comfortable to bring a child under 12.
