Our game day volunteer crew are the dedicated individuals who help bring the fight to cancer by giving their time on game day. Without our team of dedicated volunteers, this event would not be possible, as our volunteers truly represent the spirit of Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer.

Our game day referees will be responsible for ensuring that everyone plays fairly and safely. Previous referee experience is strongly recommended. A training session will be available for all referees prior to game day to review game rules. Safety is of the utmost importance to everyone involved with Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer.

Volunteer Teams

Hospitality and Event Services

The Hospitality and Event Services Team will support the event experience and front-of-house operations including distribution services, access control, wayfinding, event-flow, and overall venue support. They will also support the hospitality experience across the event footprint including food and beverage operations, hospitality areas and event activations

Game Operations and Competition Services

The Game Operations and Competition Services will manage the end-to-end participant experience including the management of game operations, scoring, competition scheduling and officiating.

Volunteer Services

The Volunteer Services team manages the end-to-end experience for volunteers, supporting the recruitment, training and deployment of volunteers.

FAQs

  • What is the age requirement for volunteering?

    All Volunteers must be 18 years and older at this time. Any volunteers who are between the age of 14-17 must be accompanied by their parent/guardian.

  • Why do I have to create an account?

    The Volunteer Portal acts as your primary platform for signing up for volunteer opportunities, shift scheduling and details, and updates. This central hub will be your one-stop shop. If you have already created a Timecounts account from another event (e.g., The Ride to Conquer Cancer, Walk to Conquer Cancer or Journey to Conquer Cancer), you will only need to submit an event registration form.

  • Is there a fee for volunteering?

    There are no registration fee(s) associated with Volunteering. However, Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to and from their volunteer shift.

  • Is fundraising a requirement for volunteering?

    There are no fundraising requirements, however, all volunteers will be offered the opportunity to fundraise. Any donations or fundraising amount you can raise will help fund our research to conquering cancer! Every dollar counts!

  • What is the availability requirement?

    We request that all Volunteers be available for 1 shifts. Due to the evolving needs of the event, we encourage that all volunteers plan for a full day assignment

  • I am having difficulty creating an account. Who can I contact?

  • What kind of volunteer roles will be offered?

    There are various roles offered throughout the event. Each volunteer job description will consist of a team overview and job-specific duties. You will be notified once the Job Descriptions have been published.

  • Can I volunteer with a friend?

    We encourage you to invite your friends – However, we cannot guarantee that you will be participating on the same team. Role and shift assignments may be assigned based on your preference and availability

  • Do I need to create an account to apply?

    Yes, you will need to create an TimeCounts account to submit the Application. Your account will be your one-stop-shop for your volunteer profile. If you had already created one for the Ride to Conquer Cancer, you may utilize the same log-in credentials.

  • I have created an account and have registered. What now?

    Thank you for submitting your application. No Further action is needed. Your application is now under review and will be reviewed as soon as possible. You will be updated once your application has been reviewed and processed. We encourage you to adjust your filter settings – Some business accounts may filter your activation link depending on your security settings.
